Bailey accessed our crisis counselling services while experiencing high levels of stress and feelings of overwhelm. This was largely due to being the solo parent of multiple children with disabilities and finding limited support in the area.
Bailey was able to use our onsite childcare facilities, to allow much needed 1:1 time for personal counselling. During her sessions, Bailey was able to identify circumstances in her life exacerbating her feeling of overwhelm, including financial abuse and other forms of intimate partner violence.
Our counselling team connected Bailey with our case management team, to support her in addressing her family’s immediate needs for safety and wellbeing including housing and disability support services for her children. Bailey also found community connection through our trauma-informed onsite playgroup and psychoeducation groups.
