Healing Hope: Taylor’s Story

Taylor reached out for support after identifying challenges with repeating patterns within her intimate relationships.

Taylor and her counsellor worked together, firstly establishing a safe and secure relationship, and over time piecing together different parts of her experiences that have shaped her current beliefs of herself and others — honouring her strength and resilience as a survivor of child sexual abuse and the complex ways in which her past experiences have shaped her current circumstances.

In her time at the Centre, Taylor has been able to put words to experiences she has never previously spoken out loud and has begun to reclaim her voice through ongoing therapeutic support and her dedication to creating positive change for herself and her children.

Throughout the time Taylor has been attending counselling, she has been able to implement and maintain boundaries with others, understand how trauma impacts the brain and realise the trauma responses that may have kept her safe at other times, are no longer serving her. Taylor continues her trauma processing journey, building coping strategies, accessing the range of support available to her within our community, and achieving personal wins along the way.
