Outstanding Community Organisation WINNER

Central Coast Community Women’s Health Centre (CCCWHC) has recently been awarded the Business NSW – Central Coast Award for Outstanding Community Organisation.

As the largest and longest-serving women-focused charity on the Central Coast with a proud 50-year history of serving women across the region, this award recognises everything the organisation has achieved over the past five decades and strengthens its advocacy efforts.

CCCWHC CEO, Sara Foster, says this award recognises the many women who have served to support other women since the organisation was founded in 1976.

“Being the recipient of the Outstanding Community Organisation Award recognises the incredible women in our organisation, who day in and day out, walk alongside women and children with compassion, skill, and unwavering commitment. This award is an acknowledgement of their extraordinary efforts,” says Sara.

“It’s also a testament to the collective impact CCCWHC has had across our community for almost 50 years, supporting and uplifting women and families who turn to us in some of their most challenging moments and heartbreaking circumstances.”

Experiencing a 65% increase in demand for its services over the past 12 months, CCCWHC is calling for more to be done to support women and their children in our community.

CCCWHC Chair, Janet Attwood, says the Award provides a platform for advocacy for all sectors of society to help create safe and healthy futures for women on the Central Coast and beyond.

“This Award brings awareness to the work we do and gives us a stronger voice to advocate for meaningful and lasting change for the women we exist to serve,” says Janet.

“It strengthens our position when calling for system reform to support the women and children experiencing risk and disadvantage within a system that should exist to protect them.

“It acknowledges the contributions of our funders, our partners, the leadership of our board, the dedication of our volunteers and the compassion of every person who has supported our work.

“We are proud to be the largest and longest-serving women-focused charity in our region. This award means so much to us because it serves as a reminder of everything that has been achieved and propels us forward for everything that is still yet to come.”
